Mickey Mouse

So coming up with party plans is harder than I thought it would be.  I am hoping for a friend's birthday we actually two.  Sweet Pea will get one here at our house and then when her Papa gets home from deployment she will get one there.

The one by our house is September 24 at 11:00 am.  Planning before nap so hopefully everyone has fun!  We are planning a pinata the big fun of the day!  I am going to cut out meat, cheese, and bread in Mickey heads and everyone can make their own sandwich.  Hubby is planning a cake of Mickey for her and I think we will also have some cute cupcakes that I found while searching for more ideas.

I am going to have coloring pages for the kids with crayon for them to take home and color while there.  Hidden Mickey heads will be places to see who can find the most.  Being most of the kids will be between ages 2 to 4 I have to keep things simple.

We are asking everyone to come and play no gifts needed.  She has nothing she needs and is so little that she will not know any better.  I really am just hoping to make a special day for her.  Last year it was just her grandparents from both side and her Auntie Julu.  It was fun but this year now that she has friends from playgroup and day care hoping to have a day with them all.

I am not sure if it is the loss of Dragonfly that has this party meaning so much to me or what.  But out of everything I have done for my kids other than giving birth this is seeming to be one of the most important things lately to me.  I know that she is still so young and will know no difference if she has a party, small, big, themed, or not but I will and I need to do this for me.

Allergy worries no more!

So with your first child you worry everything the eat might give them a rash or hives.  With baby number two that has to get thrown out the window.  This morning Sweet Pea was kindly "sharing" her cereal bar with Lady Bug.  Great they are sharing...Think again.  The cereal bar was honey nut cheerios!  Two things Miss Lady Bug has not had being only 8 months we were waiting until at least 18 months for nuts and a year for honey.

They never share should I should be over the moon excited.  But all I can think in the back of mind is hopefully she is not allergic to nuts!  We do not have many food allergies other than Sweet Pea has a lactose problem and me an all dairy issue.  So I would assume we would have no issues but I do not want to find out in the way of them "sharing."

Oh the other great part of this is Lady Bug still does not chew.  She just swallows everything that enters her mouth.  Glad they we just tiny pieces that Sweet Pea dropped but still digging your finger into the throat to dig out what you can is no fun for you or her!

On a side note Lady Bug slept through the night again in her crib!  This is night 3 now.  She slept through Tuesday and Wednesday, was up for a back rub Thursday and Friday.  All night again Saturday.  I feel great and after how both girls were yesterday I needed the break and sleep!  I was more glad she didn't get up because I have decided she will not be joining us in bed anymore.

As much as my heart breaks not to be cosleeping anymore I need better sleep.  She sleeps with me and has to be playing with my hair as she sleeps.  If she didn't pull it would not be so bother some but really the second I fall asleep she is pulling my hair.

We were up at 6:30 this morning.  Early to most but to a mom of a toddler and infant 6:30 am is like heaven.  I will take that any day over the 5 that they were waking up!  So its been 3 hours and I have hung my diapers that got rained on, folded all the laundry from yesterdays' wash, threw in the poo outfit from Lady Bugs 6:30 am explosion, dug countless honey nut cheerios out of Lady Bugs mouth, swept the living room, and figured out how to use the carpet cleaner (this was a feet in itself!!).  Just typing all that makes me tired again!

Two Years Already

As the summer comes to a close with the county fair this weekend and the State fair next week it makes me realize that next month is September!  Wow where have the last 2 years gone!  Our Sweet Pea will be 2!  How is this even possible really?  I can not believe that my 5 pound 13 ounce tiny peanut will be a whole 2 years old.

Everyone tells you as you are growing up and complaining that time is going so slow that is speeds up once you are older.  You never believe these people until you have kids.  I swear that it was just yesterday we were heading to the hospital in the middle of the night to have her.

I can still remember her coming out and never crying!  All the doctors and nurses rushing into the room.  I think in that little room there were over 8 people without counting Hubby and I that were working on her and trying to get her to cry.  Scariest moments in a mommy's life!  Then we heard those words that she needed to sent to Children's Hospital!

Wow everything seemed so perfect the whole pregnancy and labor that you never thought a baby born on her due date would need the NICU!  It felt like forever to have the team from the NICU get there they were about 2 hours away but that is by speed limit car.  Not red lights and siren ambulance.

The "space ship" they loaded my princess in to take her away from me just hours old was heartbreaking.  Why could she just not cry?  Really don't most baby just get pissed off and cry.  Nope not mine.  She had possible fluid on the lungs.  They gave her antibiotics for pneumonia and kept her for 4 days.

You would never know looking at my almost 27 pound 23 month old that she spent a few days in the NICU for pneumonia and low birth weight.  She is a healthy, sassy, spunky toddler now!

We are planning a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party theme.  She will be so excited for her party!!

Trying something new

There are so many people out there that are afraid to try something new.  Whether that be a new food, a new sport, or even a new modern medicine.  Well not that this is new for me as I have tried it before but started I started my venture with Fertility Acupuncture!

What a great hour it was!  Learned a few new things about my cycle and what may cause certain things that I have experienced in my life.  Craziest thing about the whole appointment was that after all of our talking and intake she looked and examined my tongue!  Yes my tongue!  Still not sure what this has to do with acupuncture or fertility but alrighty.

She placed about 20 needles from my feet, legs, belly, wrist and even my head!  The only one I felt was the one in my left top foot.  It stung when it went it and came out.  Otherwise I never felt the rest of them.

This new beginning for us is so exciting for me.  The acupuncture was new but ever so relaxing!  The Hubby took the girls to lunch and the park while I was in.  It was nice to know he was out with them and seeing what I go through when I go on my ventures alone with the girls.

I am excited to go back in 2 weeks for another treatment and we are going to start Chinese herbs and a fertility diet and lifestyle changes to help our changes to get our Rainbow baby!

I know many people are scared of needles as to why they would never even think to try this.  But take this new venture and go try something new yourself.  Even if its just a new food that you think would be gross or a new exercise to your workout.  I do believe trying new things no matter what they are keep us young and moving forward in our lives!

Good luck you whatever new thing you decide to try.  I think I am going to set a goal for myself to try something new each month!

Day 4

Well today is day 4 of my 6 week challenge.  I have walked everyday with the girls!  Sweat Pea actually has walked herself most of them instead of riding in the stroller.  I am sure helping with her sleeping better.  Think the fresh air has really been helping our Lady Bug as she has slept through the night the last 2 nights!  I am hoping this might be a new trend but will not hold my breath until it happens for a nice long stretch!  Thankfully we have the Angel Care monitor for her otherwise I would be worried she stopped breathing or something.

Yesterday was the Hubby's 29th Birthday!!  Next year he will hit the big 30!  I better get planning something for that as I want to make it really special for him.  We spent the day with friends of mine from high school and her little girl.  Traveling in our small hicksville area to Fawn Doe Rosa a deer petting farm.

The kids always get a kick out seeing deer and animals so tame they come up and eat out of your hand.  This is our second time visiting this place.  The first was Labor Day weekend last year for Sweet Pea's birthday.  While we were there last year a sheep took our bag of food and tried to eat it all bag included.  We also saw a goat give birth to triples!  That was the coolest thing this city girl has seen!

This year on our trip the kids got to feed many deer.  They were everywhere and came right up to us all for food.  The few more wild animals they have like the bear and otter were just laying there sleeping.  Once we got to the farm animals again things started to get exciting!  We of course saw the sheep again.  Put some food on the tray of the stroller to they would get close to Lady Bug so she could touch them.  This was good in theory until the same sheep that ate our bag last year tried to eat Lady Bug's hat right off her poor little head!!  Tug Tug Tug went the sheep and Shake Shake Shake went poor Lady Bug's head!  Thankfully the hat, sheep, or Lady Bug were not harmed in this!

Further down the trail we saw a donkey and ponies.  They are always nice to pet but we knew better than to even let the girls try to feed these as we knew it would not end well.  So we walked along to the pigs and of course Sweet Pea made her pig sound which is really just her trying to snort and wrinkle her nose.  It sure if a good laugh though if you need one!  After we ask Sweet Pea all the sound the animals she knows make we move on the the goats.  Not really sure what sound they made but she decided it was Moo.  Alright can't argue with you if I don't know what they sound like either.  So as we snapping pictures and feeding the goats in a split second maybe even less a big goat takes in Sweet Pea's food and her hand along with it!  Sure it was only a few milliseconds long but to a mommy those thing seem like forever.  We got her hand out only a scratch and a little red.  Scared the crap out of the girl more than anything I am sure.

After all the excited of everyone being "eaten" by the animals we did find a cow for Sweet Pea.  She of course was so excited as they go MOO.  I think everyone in the park could hear that little girl "talking" to the cow.  We finished our visit and headed to lunch.

It sure was an exciting birthday for the Hubby to say the least!  One I am sure no one will soon forget!!

The Beginning of our new Journey

Today I am starting our family on a new journey in life.  I am planning a healthy happy family in the end.

After suffering from a loss of a pregnancy last week I knew it was time that we do something.  Was any of this the reason for the miscarriage more than likely no but knowing I am taking this step to ensure that I am as healthy as I can be for the next baby.

So let me start by introducing you to the family.  We have our Sweet Pea born 9/22/09 still can not believe she will be 2 next month.  That is just crazy!  Next we have our lady bug 12/12/10 where the last 8 months has gone is beyond me!  And I can not leave out our dragonfly lost 8/6/11 I was 5 weeks along.  I am Shayna 27 and hubby will be 29 this week.  We have been married 3 years now 3/22/08.

Our plan is as follows:  We will be doing out workout DVD once a day that is about 30 minutes long.  Hubby will skip on Sundays due to working but other wise 7 days a week we will be working out!  Taking the girls in the stroller on a walk will be daily too.  Get them out and us walking to help!  Eating 3 meals a day is going to our goal to start.  Neither of us eat well so to eat 3 times a day is a good goal to start with.  Of course watching serving sizes will be with this too!

After we finish the soda in the house we are done.  No more soda!  I am hopeful with the working out that neither of us will need the caffeine for energy.  We should have natural energy!

I am going to personally start therapy for myself and also acupuncture with herbs to help prevent another loss when the time comes to try for number 4.

I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you and hoping that keeping this going will help me be accountable for everything and make sure I meet my goals.

Goals:
Lose 10 by Sept 25
Cut out all Soda by Aug 20
Eat 3 meals a day everyday by Aug 24
